Ines Kovačić Drndić

Conductor of the Mixed Choir “Roženice” Pazin since 2003
Prof. Ines Kovačić Drndić was born in Pula and lives in Pazin. She graduated from the Department of Tourism at the Faculty of Economics and Tourism in Pula “Dr. Mijo Mirković” and at the University of Pula she completed a specialist master’s degree in “Human Resources Management” and enrolled in a doctorate “New Economy”. She graduated in music art at the Faculty of Philosophy in Pula. She has been the artistic director and conductor of the mixed choir “Roženice” Pazin since 2003, and since September 2019 she has been the president of the same choir. For a short time she led the mixed choir “Sokol” from Buzet and conducted on several occasions with the Zagreb Chamber Philharmonic.
From 2000 to 2005 she worked at the music school in Pazin and Poreč as a professor of piano and solfeggio. She has participated in music pedagogical conferences, seminars and conferences throughout Croatia (Zagreb, Split, Rijeka, Pula, Osijek) and outside Croatia, especially in the field of economics. As part of his work at the Pazin Music School from 2002-2003. she was also the headmistress of the School.
Since 2005 he has been working for the hotel company Maistra d.d. in Rovinj. She has worked on a variety of projects and jobs from internships, wellness managers, professional associates in marketing and operations. For the past five years, he has held the position of Assistant Director of Operations. In addition to tasks in the field of operational business, Maistra manages cultural tourism projects. It organizes the international festival of sacred choral music MUSICA SACRA and the Festival of Amateur Cultural Creativity (FAKS), which brings together foreign and domestic amateur choirs, wind orchestras and folklore groups on an attractive cultural and tourist program in Istria. For the last three years, she has received recognition from the European Festival Association (EFA) for the FAKS festival under the name “EFFE label”.
From 2009-2013 was the Deputy Mayor of the City of Pazin. According to the powers of the Mayor, she was responsible for performing activities in the field of culture and tourism.
On April 1, 2016, the Croatian Association of Choir Conductors awarded her the recognition in the form of the professional title Maestra mentor of the Croatian Association of Choir Conductors for the achieved lasting results of a high artistic level. He is a frequent member of the expert committee at international choir competitions, where he represents the Croatian choir scene.
In 2017, the City of Pazin awarded her the Certificate of Appreciation of the City of Pazin for outstanding results achieved during fifteen years of artistic leadership of the Roženica Choir and a significant contribution to the development and promotion of amateur choral singing.
In July 2018, she founded the Ars Cultura association with the aim of promoting culture and the performing arts.
She has had impressive success and has participated in numerous national and international festivals and competitions where she has won silver and gold plaques. Among the awards are gold from the international competitions Chorus Inside in Rovinj, where in 2014 she won a special award for best conductor of the festival and at the national competition “Croatia Cantat” held in November 2018 in Sibenik, where she also won a special award for conductor.
